If you have a passion for fitness and being part of a community, this business opportunity combines both.
F45 Christchurch Group (a collection of five profitable fully managed Christchurch F45 gyms) is for sale through Andrew Lawrence and Jason Olliver of ABC Business Sales.
F45 is one of the world’s fastest-growing franchises, ranked 8th on Entrepreneur’s list of Fastest-Growing Franchises for 2021.
Offering group personal training with an emphasis on community, the brand is surging in popularity. Several years ago, F45 was relatively unknown; now it is at the forefront of the market. The F45 model offers consistency to members the world over, and a powerful growing brand to its franchisees.

The functional and circuit training workouts in a Team Training atmosphere are the final factor fuelling F45 Training. The motivation and encouragement in a Group Training facility create a pulsing, upbeat environment where goals are met and exceeded.
The sale of F45 Christchurch Group is a package deal including five different F45’s in the Christchurch area – F45 Christchurch Central City, F45 Ferrymead, F45 Sydenham, F45 Wigram and F45 Hornby.
Each studio is under full management with the respective studio managers handling the day-to-day operations within each location.
Standard operations include rostering, preparing, and coaching group fitness classes, maintaining equipment, maintaining training schedules, and customer admin (queries, new memberships, etc).
The web-based scheduling and class booking system, provided by F45, allows for easy management of staff hours. It also enables managers to easily monitor class numbers and attendance.
Class preparation requires time ahead of each class to set up the equipment for that session.
The vendors have oversight of each studio manager and control the overall direction and strategy of the group.
F45 offers a one-week induction for all new franchisees. Additionally, F45 provides supplementary manuals that provide guidance on all aspects of the business.
There is substantial room for growing active membership numbers. The combined forecast EBITDA for the 2022 financial year is a healthy $1.3 million.
A focus on continuing to grow the membership base has the potential to yield solid results. With the mid-June autopay membership of 896 members, there is generous capacity for additional members across the group.
With the brand awareness constantly growing there is always additional room for expansion, either by way of acquiring existing studios to add to the group or opening territories in newly developing areas. The cashflow generated by the existing operation creates a strong foundation for this to be a viable strategy.
“Why buy a house with less than 4% yield when you can buy a business with a 20%+ yield? With interest rates so low it’s a great opportunity to purchase cashflow,” says Lawrence.
"The vendors have cultivated a fantastic atmosphere with a loyal membership, and they are committed to a smooth and mutually beneficial transition to ensure that this continues for the new owner and the F45 community. Being a managed operation, management will be well-positioned to bring the new owner up to speed on processes and systems. The vendors are committed to a smooth transition.
"The health and fitness industry in NZ is experiencing phenomenal growth and timing couldn’t be better if you are serious about the sector. Alternatively, a smart return on investment for a consortium of savvy investors to take advantage of the future growth of this renowned international group," says Olliver.
