Transport and infrastructure specialist Jenson Varghese has joined the Colliers Strategic Advisory team as a Director and will be based in the Auckland CBD office.
Varghese has over 20 years’ experience in infrastructure consulting and strategic advisory, predominantly in the transportation planning space.
Previously Managing Director for MRCagney, he has led major transport business cases across New Zealand and brings a wealth of knowledge to the company.
Colliers’ Strategic Advisory team, led by National Director Alain McKinney, draws on expertise from across the business to deliver tailored insights and solutions.

The team focuses on big property decisions and complex transactions, while working with investors, developers, occupiers, and other advisors, including some of New Zealand’s largest and most successful companies, central and local government, and leading not-for-profits.
They also assess and advise on the viability and implications of development projects, investments, and other long-term property decisions.
Varghese’s appointment strengthens the team, bringing insight into the relationship between property development, infrastructure, and transport planning.
“I’m keen to improve the connection between property development, infrastructure planning, and investment,” Varghese says.
“Traditional infrastructure investment business cases don’t always capture the property benefits and redevelopment potential. Being at Colliers gives me the opportunity to improve on that.”
McKinney says Varghese’s infrastructure and transport perspective will further enhance the team’s ability to support clients navigating complicated development and investment decisions.

Varghese is passionate about sustainability, renewable energy, urban revitalisation, high-density development, and the build-to-rent sector, areas where Colliers has the capability to deliver market-leading solutions for clients.
“Colliers has some really interesting projects in the works,” Varghese says.
“In the past I’ve worked on 10-to-20-year projects, which take a lot of patience, and sometimes you don’t see the end results.
“Our clients are investing in projects that are on the ground and happening in real-time, and I’m excited to be a part of the team helping with that.”
