A premium North Canterbury vineyard that has been operating for over 35 years and sells its wine domestically and internationally is available for purchase.
The Boneline is located at 376 Ram Paddock Road in Waipara and is a strategically positioned property that spans 193ha. It is 10km from Amberley and 60km north of Christchurch.
There is 18ha of planted vineyard, including cabernet franc, syrah, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, riesling, merlot, and pinot noir.
The focus of the vineyard is on low volume, intensely concentrated fruit and its distribution network includes international customers, local and online buyers, and its on-site cellar that is part of a purpose-built winery complex that includes an outdoor tasting area.

With more than 35 years of weather data to draw on, the property has proven itself as one of the best wine growing sites in the region.
The property includes three dwellings; the main homestead, which is a 1930s weatherboard home that has been modernised recently, a two-bedroom Fraemohs home that would be ideal for short-stay visitor accommodation, and a one-bedroom home that was constructed in 2019 and would be suitable for winery staff or visitor accommodation.
Shane O'Brien, Director of Rural & Agribusiness at Colliers Christchurch, has been exclusively appointed to market the property and the full going concern winery business for sale via deadline sale closing at 1pm on Thursday 19 June, unless sold prior.
Plantings commenced at the property in 1989 after several years were spent identifying the ideal site for a premium vineyard development.
On the terraces of the south bank of the Waipara River, these alluvial, free draining gravels are north-facing and in a microclimate surrounded by foothills at the entrance to the Waipara Gorge.
The Boneline produces premium mixed variety wines under the The Boneline and Waipara West brands that are sold throughout Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and Canada. The Boneline label can also be found in many of New Zealand's favourite restaurants.
O'Brien says there is considerable growth potential at the location that could include an expansion of the planting area, enhanced domestic sales volumes, as well as wine tourism, or on-site accommodation ventures.
"Only 10 per cent of the total land area has been planted with a vast amount of space suitable for further planting. The existing water consent and irrigation provide the capacity for further intensification of the site," O'Brien says.
"The winery component of the vineyard could make wine for other growers or expand the tasting area for events, while the cellar door could be utilised for tastings, bespoke events, or the development of a cafe.
"The current owners have built up two exceptional wine brands and laid the foundation for the new owner to come in and take it to another level."
The Waipara wine growing region was first established in the late 1970s. It now comprises approximately 1,500ha across 75 vineyards producing around 100,000 cases of wine annually, which amounts to 3 per cent of New Zealand s total wine production.
This significant wine region is renowned for low rainfall with hot dry summers across the alluvial soils being sheltered by the coastal Teviot Range and the inland North Canterbury foothills.
"Given the subject property s proximity to surrounding wineries and tourism hot spots such as Hanmer Springs and Kaikōura, there is scope for it to be positioned as a popular destination that will attract domestic and international attention," O'Brien says.
"This property presents buyers with the chance to secure a stake in a prized winery region in the South Island."
