After a stint in Amsterdam, Paddy Mackenzie has returned to Colliers North Shore as an Industrial Sales Broker.
It represents a homecoming of sorts for Mackenzie, who started his career in the industry on the North Shore seven years ago as a Team Assistant after obtaining a Bachelor of Property from the University of Auckland.
He later moved into brokerage in the Industrial team at Colliers Highbrook before travelling offshore.
While overseas, he managed a portfolio of leases across Europe for a large commercial tenant, giving him an appreciation for both sides of the property process.

“Working for a corporate business really helped me to develop my stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills – but most importantly it gave me an understanding of how large corporations operate, and what their tenant requirements and expectations are,” Mackenzie says.
“It also helped me realise how engaging and exciting brokerage is. Your days are very different, and you’re continuously learning. I’m excited to be back.”
Returning to the North Shore feels like a full-circle moment.
“With all the familiar faces around, returning to Colliers has felt like coming home. I’m really looking forward to working with everyone again.”
Moving forward, Mackenzie will focus on industrial sales and leasing throughout the North Shore as part of an award-winning team.
The Colliers North Shore office has claimed the Commercial & Industrial Office of the Year – Small at the REINZ Awards for Excellence seven times in the past eight years.
The team specialises in the sales and leasing of commercial property from the industrial sector through to retail and office space. Their consistent success reflects a deep understanding of the local market and a commitment to delivering exceptional results for clients.
Jimmy O’Brien, Director at Colliers Auckland North, who first recruited Mackenzie, says he is pleased to have him rejoining the business.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Paddy back to the team following his time in Europe. The experience he has gained over the past two and a half years will be invaluable to both him and his clients as he steps back into the market,” O’Brien says.
“It’s great to have his fresh energy and perspective complementing our longstanding team of Brokers.”
