Six new industrial warehouse-style units and two adjoining commercial premises in the Coromandel Peninsula town of Whangamatā have been placed on the market.
The new hub is located in Whangamatā’s compressed industrial and big-box commercial precinct bordered by Wattle Place, Martyn Road, the northern side of Casement Road, and the Wentworth River.
Big-name tenancies in the surrounding neighbourhood include Bunnings, Carters, Firth Concrete, New World, and a Waitomo fuel outlet.
Construction will soon begin on six high-stud warehouse units ranging in size from 164 square metres up to 218 square metres, and two street-facing commercial premises of 174 square metres each.

The terraced units sit on a 3,032-square metre (more or less) rectangular block and are being marketed for sale separately.
Each of the industrial warehouse units will have high roller door access, occupier bathroom and kitchenette amenities, two allocated car parks within a fully fenced large, sealed yard wide enough for a truck to undertake a three-point turn, and access to a dedicated vehicle or boat wash-down zone.
Each of the two commercial premises will have floor-to-ceiling windows along most of their width, with seven car parking spaces each.
The eight units at 105A Lindsay Road are being marketed individually by Deadline Private Treaty through Bayleys Whitianga. Offers close on September 9 (unless sold prior).
Salesperson Josh Smith says the clean-lined and functional development will be the first of its kind for Whangamatā, and target owner-occupiers seeking either new garage-style warehousing space or office premises in the seaside town.
Initially, only four of the industrial units will be available to purchase.
“There is virtually no available suitable land to expand industrial activities in this part of Whangamatā, and as a result, sites like this are highly sought after because of their close proximity to both the town’s central business district and surrounding residential population,” Smith says.
“The high-spec warehousing premises being built in Lindsay Road could easily be utilised as a secure high-stud ‘lock-up-and-leave’ building suitable for not only housing a private car collection, but also as terraced tilt-slab premises suitable for covered lock-up boat, caravan or motorhome storage.
“Alternatively, the units are eminently suitable for use as a tradie warehousing facility for occupation by the likes of builders, plumbers, electricians, drainage contractors, or telecommunications installation and maintenance specialists with a fleet of two or three vehicles and a need for convenient storage space just a short drive to all parts of residential Whangamatā.”
Smith says that facing onto Lindsay Street with the potential for prominent company signage and branding, the two commercial units for sale are more suited for owner-occupation by the likes of professional service businesses, or even a café/bakery to service staff working at the multitude of surrounding businesses.
