Former All Blacks coach Sir Steve Hansen and wife Natasha have sold their luxury lifestyle block in Wānaka to an offshore buyer for $7.3 million.

Aspire Realty listing agent Craig Myles posted on social media this week that the sale took place within 11 days of the property hitting the open market.
“Supremely grateful for the trust and opportunity Steve and Tash Hansen placed in me to represent them in the sale of their property. Congrats to my clients and the purchasers on this great result,” he wrote.
Records show the house has an RV of $5.59m, and was bought by the Hansens in 2019 for $3.2m.

Earlier that year, the couple got $2.7m from selling a five-bedroom holiday home in the wealthy Queenstown-Lakes town and $3.15m for their lifestyle block in Prebbleton, Canterbury.
The listing video for the Hansens’ $7.3m home highlights its key features, including a schist exterior and schist indoor fireplace, a popular choice for Central Otago homes. Exposed timber beams and timber panelling can be seen in some of the rooms, while the kitchen has a marble waterfall bench and scullery. Other standout features include the putting green and bar, which look out to the large lawn and snowy mountains in the distance.
Myles told OneRoof the property had sold to a buyer who understood the rarity of the opportunity. The Hansen home was in the prestigious Far Horizon enclave, which is popular for its parklike surroundings, and is close to Lake Wānaka and the town centre.
Myles said the Hansens had undertaken significant renovations to the home, including upgrading the well-equipped gourmet kitchen and scullery, to reflect their love of entertaining and family living.

“With their time divided between Wanaka, Christchurch and overseas, Wānaka will remain an important base for them while in New Zealand. Their travel schedule means they are looking to right-size their living situation for the time they can spend here.”
Sir Steve resigned as coach of the All Blacks following the side’s semi-final loss to England in the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
The New Zealand Herald reported this month that he had joined the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, in Sydney, as the club’s football performance director.
The club’s stadium, Brookvale, is in the neighbourhood of another famous Kiwi.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported this week that Dame Jacinda Ardern and husband Clarke Gayford paid A$5.3m (NZ$6.5m) for a property in the nearby suburb of Dee Why.
The paper said the deal was the biggest residential sale recorded in the beach suburb so far this year.
Ardern confirmed earlier this year that her family were basing themselves in Australia “for the moment”, after she and Gayford were seen house-hunting on Sydney’s northern beaches.
