Construction is underway at Enclave – a brand new pocket community located at the heart of St Heliers.

The striking design is just one of the points of difference at Enclave, with European brick a key element within the material palette. These were chosen for their sense of permanence and low maintenance finish, as well as their bespoke aesthetic.
“They’re clay fired in a kiln utilising a traditional process,” says Hamilton.
“The varying colour shifts between each brick makes for a facade that feels very handmade and more crafted than what you might get on a typical townhouse. What Monk Mackenzie brings to these developments is restraint – a beautiful use of material but making sure that it’s a refined use of it.”
The same goes for the interior design, with a similar restrained ethos and natural tones and materials utilised. This creates a calming ambience and one that feels consistently comfortable and relaxed.
The homes feature Miele appliances, are well insulated, have heat pumps and all enjoy outdoor living space, whether it be a balcony or terrace.
He says that in recent times, New Zealanders have been favouring townhouses over apartments. “You get that low maintenance living but you don’t have the big overheads and body corporates.”

These are also proportionally more generous than a typical townhouse, with Monk Mackenzie carefully curating the different layouts for unique buyer needs and incorporating helpful extras to improve ease of lifestyle.
“A lot of people already living in St Heliers will likely be coming from a larger home, so making space was an important point for us. Many of the homes have internal garaging and these also have quite a large additional basement space, which can be used for storing bikes, furniture or as a home gym.
“Storage is a big issue for people and this extra depth is a real bonus. Some homes also have a downstairs bedroom – quite a large space with its own bathroom. This can work well as a guest suite, a private retreat for parents or older children, a home office, or an independent room for a flatmate or shared household.”

He reiterates that there is a price point and home types for everyone at Enclave and that, unlike many other developers, Enclave is fully financed. “We’re selling off plans but are building them now. That takes away a lot of risk.”
He says the Riddell Road address speaks for itself. “There is a $60m house 100m down the road. The beach is an 800m walk away, there is a much-loved shopping centre just across the road, and you are right on Tāmaki Drive.
