Pillars, an architecture-led collection of premium residences overlooking St Marys Bay, has been met with a strong market response since launch, driven by its design quality and sought-after location.
Since its unveiling over summer, the landmark development has generated sustained inquiry and early sales activity, with the Bayleys sales team negotiating its first sale on launch weekend and momentum continuing steadily since.
Precinct’s residential sales manager Maria Salmon says Pillars’ early success has been underpinned by strong local support.
“We hosted two launch events that were both incredibly well attended,” she says. “Most buyers are locals looking to transition from larger family homes into something more manageable, without compromising on space or quality.”

Salmon notes that the north-facing site, elevated position and views across St Marys Bay, combined with the ease of apartment living, have resonated strongly. Each residence is generously scaled at around 200sqm, with high-quality interiors and carefully considered amenity.
“It was particularly encouraging to receive positive feedback from the St Marys Bay Residents Association,” she says. “They’ve commented on how well the development sits within the neighbourhood.”
Interest has also extended beyond the immediate area, with inquiries from Waiheke Island and established suburbs such as Remuera and Parnell, where buyers are now seeking a return to a more central, lifestyle-focused location.
Pillars is arranged across two buildings with distinct architectural expressions. Pillars of College comprises 16 sculptural residences with a strong street presence, while Pillars of Dublin offers a more intimate collection of four homes, drawing on the villa character of St Marys Bay.

Developed by Precinct, New Zealand’s largest owner and developer of premium city real estate, and designed by award-winning practice Jasmax, the project reflects a highly considered response to its prominent ridge site.
Careful planning has maximised outlook, orientation and liveability, while allowing each home to retain its own sense of identity. Features such as ground-level gardens, dual-aspect layouts, penthouse-level amenity throughout and future-ready technology further enhance the residential offering.
Bayleys projects national director Suzie Wigglesworth says demand has been strong for Pillars of College, while the strong sell-through at Pillars of Dublin, now around three-quarters sold, highlights buyer confidence across both buildings.
The ridgeline location offers sweeping views from the upper levels, with outlooks across St Marys Bay to the harbour, and back across Freemans Bay to the city.

Tim Lamont, head of living developments at Precinct, says the project has struck a chord with its intended audience.
“The site is exceptionally well located for the area’s lifestyle and residential character,” he says. “The architecture responds beautifully to both.”
Prospective buyers can experience the development through a nearby display suite, featuring a detailed scale model and full-scale kitchen and bathroom replica, offering a tangible sense of the finishes and spatial quality.
Bayleys sales consultants Louise Stringer and Dominique Donaghy say feedback has been consistently positive.
“We’re seeing interest from buyers with a strong connection to the area, who are looking for something that feels special but easy to live in,” Stringer says. “There’s also a high level of trust in Precinct as a developer, which gives buyers confidence in the finished result, particularly on such an iconic site.”
