The current owner says that when she and her family bought the property about three years ago, they were attracted by the 1.07ha of land and the grapevines, which produce 600 bottles of Pinotage every year.
“We had visions of using the property as a wedding venue or something similar because all the lovely established trees and park-like lawns would be the most beautiful backdrop.
“We love the location too because you feel as though you’re living in the country, yet the Kumeu township is just down the road so you’re actually only a few minutes away from a good coffee or the supermarket.”
Due to a combination of circumstances the owners are now selling but it’s not a decision they took lightly.
“We love that it’s so close the local beaches, and we’re keen mountain bikers so it’s good for that too.”

Simon Spiller from Bayleys in Kumeu agrees that the location is perfect for commuters – with easy access to major roads – or even for working from home.
“It’s the quintessential character villa and it’s been loved and looked after,” he says.
“Finding this style of house on a large piece of land is unusual because they tend to be tightly held – and for very good reason. The community out here is really friendly and there are lots of vineyards to visit – and, of course, the Kumeu AMP show is a yearly highlight for everybody.”
