Colliers has expanded its brokerage presence in one of the fastest-growing areas in the country with the recruitment of Simon Edge who will be based in Pukekohe.
Bringing a background in residential property sales across New Zealand and South Africa, along with three years’ experience in property management and a history in facilities management, Edge makes for an experienced addition to Colliers’ Investment Sales team.
Southern Auckland has seen substantial change in recent years, including the development of the Drury South Crossing business park and with New Zealand’s second Costco site set to be built there it shows no signs of slowing down.
The expansion aligns with Pukekohe’s booming population growth, which is projected to increase from approximately 27,000 residents to more than 50,000 within the next 20 years.

Now a local himself, Edge will focus on the Pukekohe, Drury, Karaka, and Waiuku areas.
Edge’s strengths as a Broker stem from his diverse work history. Before moving into property, he owned and operated his own audiovisual business and has held several sales and management roles.
“My previous work experience taught me how to develop relationships and build rapport, which has long been important in the property industry,” Edge says.
“The technical side of the job can be learned, but connection and communication are what make you effective. That’s probably my biggest strength.”
Duncan Bell, Director of Investment Sales at Colliers, who is based in Pukekohe, says Edge’s varied background gives him a great headstart as he looks to establish himself in brokerage.
“Simon brings a diverse and well-rounded skill set to the Investment Sales team, underpinned by his background in residential sales, facilities management, and property management,” Bell says.
“This experience gives him a practical understanding of property operations and asset performance, allowing him to provide strategic advice on pricing, positioning, and negotiation to achieve strong commercial outcomes for our clients.”
When looking for his next challenge, Edge had planned to continue along the residential property pathway until he connected with the Colliers Investment Sales team, who encouraged him to consider the commercial sector.
“I had heard great things about the culture of Colliers from people within the property industry,” Edge says.
“I could see that Colliers invests in its people. The mix of professional development opportunities and flexibility really appealed to me.”
