Every luxury home has an infinity pool, but this one is bound to give even the wealthiest Kiwi homeowner a dose of jealousy.
Turkish firm Hayri Atak Architectural Design Studio has revealed plans for a jaw-dropping new boutique hotel - and at its centre is a glass bottomed pool that lunges out of a cliff face in Norway 600m above the picturesque Lysefjorden fjord in Preikestolen.
While it’s merely a concept at this stage, the luxury digs would be designed to accommodate only a handful of groups at a time with nine boutique rooms over three stories, each with its own private balcony.
The upper entry would serve a dual purpose as a scenic viewing deck out over the fjords, but it’s the lower pool deck that has the world talking.

In addition to lounging spots to capture the outlook, the slender pool cantilevers dramatically over the cliff face.
Foolproof engineering will no doubt be utilised to keep it securely in place, but if it one day comes to fruition, you can be sure the pool will draw daring travellers in from all around the world and be a must for richies looking for a a bit of drama in their own homes.
Speaking of the inspiration for the concept hotel, studio founder Hayri says: "Preikestolen has been one of the most exciting places to me through the years. One day a friend of mine sent me photos of ‘the rock’ she captured during her Norway trip.
“Even though I wasn’t there, I experienced the adrenaline of being on the edge. Then I dreamed of living on and beyond the edge. Simply, I just wanted to carry this experience beyond the edge.”
Only one questions remains: Would you dare go for a dip in this pool?
