The sprawling eight-bedroom, eight-bathroom home at 60A Goldflats Lane, on Auckland's northern lifestyle fringe, is on the market for sale with a price indication of $18 million.
Precision Realty listing agent Nicky White said the mansion was one of the grandest in Coatesville. “There’s nothing else in Coatesville currently that compares. It really is in a league of its own,” she told OneRoof.
The 1450sqm house sits within a 4.27ha landscaped estate and boasts a walk-in wine cellar, a gym, a tennis court, a movie room, and a self-contained nanny’s quarters with its own garage. Plus, said White, the 25m heated swimming pool was one of the biggest in the suburb.

“There's nothing you could wish for that’s not on the property,” she said. "You never have to leave home.”
The estate is not that far from the Mahoenui Valley Road mansion bought by the founders of ZURU Toys for $32.5m in 2016 - still Coatesville's highest residential sale price.
OneRoof data shows Coatesville's highest sale price since Covid is $11.5m, paid in 2022 for a smaller five-bedroom property on Goldflats Lane.

White said her clients at 60A Goldflats Lane had bought the property in 2015 and were now selling to downsize. They purchased the house and another title of land in two separate transactions, but are selling both together.
“We are selling it as one, but somebody could subdivide that if they didn’t want it. The title of the land on its own would be worth a lot in its own right. But I think whoever buys that will want the whole estate for the added privacy and investment,” White told OneRoof.
White said the property had attracted interest from New Zealanders and overseas buyers, including those based in Europe and the US.
“Funnily enough, it still appeals to couples even though the expanse of the property is huge. A lot of the enquiries are coming from people who want privacy and extra land around them.”

White recently sold another Coatesville mansion to international buyers for $9.1m. The new build on Robinson Road had been constructed to a high standard and was filled with high-spec fittings and fixtures.
White said Coatesville offered buyers more bang for their buck compared to prestige suburbs in the central city. “It’s a niche market and homes there will always hold their value." Estates like Goldflats Lane, she said, rarely came up for sale.
New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty agent Natalie Newton, who brokered the $11.5m sale on Goldflats Lane in 2023, told OneRoof the suburb was home to several top-tier properties that were easily among the most expensive in Auckland.

“In the $10m to $12m [price bracket] you actually have quite a few to choose from.”
She has a luxury spread with an $11.25m RV for sale at 66 Mahoenui Valley Road. The six-bedroom 1000sqm home sits on a 2.66ha estate and was given a celebrity-grade makeover by the previous owners, Real Housewives of Auckland Michelle Blanchard and her husband David.
Newton agreed that the suburb was attracting a bit of overseas interest. She said it was embraced by buyers from Singapore and the UK, who appreciated the land, forest and water that came with some of the properties, while the US buyers were drawn to the privacy and security in the large, gated estates.
Some of the New Zealand buyers were conscious that there could be more competition when the foreign buyer rules are relaxed next year. “Coatesville is a really good enclave at the moment. You’ve got a lot of uncertainty around Dairy Flat with the road expansions, and Coatesville doesn’t have any of that. So it’s nice and protected, so people want to be there and enjoy it because it’s still that community that everybody loves.”
