86.49ha

86 Hectares of Possibility close to Taupo

Space, location and scope to explore your options—1200 Poihipi Road offers approximately 86 hectares (more or less) just 12km from Taupō township.

For buyers prepared to undertake further improvements, this property presents an opportunity to secure a substantial landholding close to town.

Rolling contour and gullies shape this largely undeveloped holding. Much of the former forestry land remains in cutover condition, with naturally established grasses, limited fencing and water infrastructure. An older set of cattle yards provides basic stock-handling facilities, while a couple of established grass paddocks offer potential for hay production.

The property sits outside the Taupo lake catchment and therefore comes under Proposed Plan Change 1 (Healthy Rivers Waiora).

34 hectares (more or less) of the property was being grazed as at 2016, meaning that the 34 hectares does not need a land use change consent for continued grazing.

The remaining 52.5 hectares (more or less) was in forestry as at 2016 and would require a land use change consent to change the land use from forestry (woody vegetation) to farming.

Buyers should obtain advice specific to their proposed use and confirmation from both councils. Any subdivision or development potential requires investigation with Taupō District Council and Waikato Regional Council and is subject to the relevant approvals.

Tender closes 1pm 25 November 2026 at Colliers, 95 Te Heuheu Street, Taupo (unless sold prior).
