You know that saying - “It’s always good to have options”?
Well, that saying’s both true in life as well as made for 230 Hillview Road, Alexandra - a luxurious property, with exceptional rural and mountain views, that offers plenty of choice. There’s a stunning main dwelling - that can easily be split into two distinct self-contained wings, a second dwelling, as well as 4.71 hectares of bare land. Think multi-generational living, home and income, horses, olives, stud stock, think whatever you like - you’re in charge.
The centrepiece of this fabulous property is the grand 2008-built four-bedroom two-bathroom mud-styled block home. North facing, most of the home opens out on to a patio and unrivalled views of those impressive often snow-capped Dunstan Mountains. Actually, you’d struggle to find a better spot to look at the range from. This home could be lovingly lived in by a large family or easily split into two wings.
The eastern wing offers three double bedrooms, a large bathroom including spa bath, two separate toilets, and an open plan kitchen/living/dining area. This space comes with a projector and large screen, so can be turned into a cinema room at the push of a button. We’re told watching the Blacks beat the Boks on the big screen is beaut. This wing has - in the past - been used as a B’n’B, while it’s currently tenanted.
The western part of the dwelling - what would probably be the owners digs - is top drawer. The entrance leads to two spacious offices - one for him and one for her - as well as the open plan kitchen, dining and living area. The sleek designer kitchen - with underfloor heating - conservatory, log burner, heat pump, as well as three large sliding doors that open out on to the patio and those majestic rural and mountain views make this space as good as it gets in the region. The large master bedroom opens out on to a private patio area and - as you’d expect - has a good-sized walk-in wardrobe as well as an impressive yet minimalistic all-tiled ensuite complete with double vanity. This wing of the house also offers a separate laundry and double garage.
The double-glazed home also has underfloor heating in both bathrooms, central heating in the hallway, a gas fire in the cinema room, a heat transfer system, as well as another two heat pumps, so you’ll be toasty warm in winter. On top of that, there’s one of those central vacuum systems. This is a very impressive, quality, well configured and comfortable home in a cracking setting.
Outside, beyond the entertaining area and lawn, while the grapes are now gone, the fixed grid irrigation system still stands. This area - the area between the house and the mountains - is screaming out for your passion. Horses, sheep, cattle, olives, bees, fruit trees - whatever it is that brings you joy - you can tinker away at your leisure and look out over your passion project from your delightful new home.
There are already a few trees producing an abundance of fruit. Cherries, apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums, pears, apples, and almonds. The fruit section of the supermarket is on the other side of those sliding doors. The tunnel house has grown tonnes of tomatoes and could grow more in the future. We’re talking living the high life on Hillview here.
Then there’s also what’s known as the “Travellers Accommodation” - a tidy, spacious, and very rentable three-bedroom one-bathroom second dwelling that’s warmed by a heat pump and log burner. A large ‘open’ shed - for the toys, tractor and implements - is attached to that second dwelling.
With all that real estate on offer - as well as plenty of water to help turn your dreams into reality - you need to view this exceptional property now.
You only live once, so you might as well have a go - 230 Hillview Road, Alexandra - your future starts here.
