The winner of The Block NZ: Redemption has hit the market for sale, almost four years after the hit renovation show came to a shocking end.

The three-bedroom townhouse at 13 Ringi Lane, in Auckland's Orewa, fetched $1.145 million at auction in 2022, handing a bittersweet victory to contestants Chloe Hes and Ben Speedy.
Their sale was just $4000 above the reserve – the smallest winning profit in the show’s 10-year history, and a harsh reflection of the change in the Auckland housing market at the time.
The friends, returning to compete in The Block after losing out in season seven, walked away with a $100,000 cash prize plus their auction profits, but the other teams weren’t so lucky.

Only one other house sold above the reserve, and one house sold at a loss, bringing the tenth season of the reality TV show to a disappointing close.
Hes and Speedy said after the results: “We can’t believe we won! We feel really privileged that we got the opportunity to return and create a home we are truly proud of.”
The four three-bedroom terrace houses that the teams created on the hills above Orewa, on the northern fringes of Auckland, were offered to bidders at a private auction and broadcast a month later.
The following year, The Block NZ's producers pulled the plug on the show, and it hasn't appeared on NZ screens since.

The owners of 13 Ringi Lane are now looking to sell. The RV for their home is $1.025m, below what they paid, but they do have a Block fit-out on their side.
In her listing on OneRoof, Harcourts agent Karin Blaauw says the property is "far more than just a home - it's a statement in style, sophistication, and effortless living. Architecturally designed with soft curves, refined interiors, and cutting-edge smart technology, this award-winning residence delivers the ultimate lock-up-and-leave lifestyle in the heart of Pacific Heights, Orewa."

Blaauw told OneRoof that the townhouse had been quietly on the market, with no publicity, as the owners were still deciding what to do it. They had been running it as an Airbnb, which was a challenge for viewings.
She said her clients were hoping to recoup their 2022 spend. "They would be happy with what they paid for it. Obviously, commission will come off and all of that, but roughly around the $1.15m to the mid $1.1m,” she said.
However, she said they are competing in a very tough market segment, as there are currently 80 similar townhouses for sale in that price bracket in Red Beach and Orewa.
At the next level up, a four-bedroom, two-bathroom freestanding place on Pacific Heights Road fetched $1.261m recently. “But it was not nearly as cosy and unique, obviously, as this home. The design, I feel like it’s a sensory experience going into that home.”
She said her clients had lived at the house with their young kids until early 2025, before turning it into a short-term let.
The agent said she had met the neighbours in the other The Block NZ houses, including competitors Stacy and Adam, who bought their competition house for themselves, and are now expecting a baby. Interest from first home buyers had come from all over Auckland, as well as locals, she said.
The end of The Block NZ in 2022 was heartbreaking in more ways than one for the teams, who had lost out in previous seasons of the show and had returned to make money. They only got to keep the profit they made from the sales – what their house sold for above the reserve.
Contestants Maree and James Steele sold their home at auction for $1,152,100, just $100 above the reserve. Stacy and Adam Middleton, who earned nothing from their first appearance on The Block, walked away with nothing for a second time after their house sold after the auction at the reserve price of $1.148m.
Quinn and Ben Alexandre, who won just $10,000 the last time they appeared on The Block, made a loss this time around after their house sold for $39,000 below their reserve of $1.199m.
The previous year's Block contestants made an average auction profit of well over half a million dollars.
