Timezone, the family entertainment centre, has signed up as anchor tenant for the retail levels in the Stonewood Group's new 280 Queen Street development in Auckland’s CBD.
This follows an announcement earlier this year that Raddison Red has committed to the majority of the building, converting the floors to 322 hotel rooms, the first Raddison Red luxury hotel in the Asia-Pacific and Australasia regions
Stonewood says this addition, including other smaller leases in the retail complex, demonstrates the growing confidence in the Midtown area as the group’s commitment to revitalising Auckland’s city centre.
Occupying over 1250sq m of prime ground-floor retail space, Timezone will bring its latest offering of high-quality, family-friendly entertainment to Auckland featuring bowling lanes, 100+ arcade machines, karaoke booths and more. Guests will also enjoy the Winners' Vault, a treasure trove of treats and rewards.

Stonewood says the venue is set to open before Christmas.
James Woodbridge, general manager of Timezone’s parent TEEG NZ Ltd, said the company is delighted to launch its 14th location in Auckland’s CBD.
“Wherever we open a Timezone, it quickly becomes the entertainment destination, and I am certain this new venue will be a welcome addition to the area. We’re looking forward to becoming a part of the vibrant community at 280 Queen Street and contributing to the resurgence of Auckland’s Midtown.”
Vicki Chow, executive director of Stonewood Group, added, “We are very excited to welcome Timezone to 280 Queen Street.
“With both Radisson RED and Timezone, our development is set to be an iconic location for people to meet, play, eat and stay in Auckland’s CBD. The inclusion of Timezone aligns perfectly with our vision to enhance the vibrancy of Auckland’s Midtown area.”
In line with Auckland Council’s Midtown Programme, the revitalisation of Queen St and surrounding areas is being supported by several initiatives to improve public spaces, including a focus on outdoor dining.
The council’s push for more vibrant outdoor dining spaces will complement the food and beverage offering at 280 Queen Street.
The 280 Queen Street property runs from Queen St through to Lorne St’s bustling food and beverage precinct.
Stonewood Group is also introducing a new food and beverage concept on Level 1, featuring seven outlets designed to enhance the link’s hospitality vibe.
“We already have number of interested parties bringing high-standard food and beverage offerings to Midtown.
"We are glad they can see the numerous benefits of the proximity to the Raddison Red Hotel, nearby universities and office towers as well as being around the corner from Te Waihorotiu Station — which will be the busiest of train stations once the CRL is complete,” Chow said.
