Sitting on the crest of Omana Road, the Omana North development is the first major apartment complex to be built in Milford for over 50years and has attracted a great deal of interest.

With a total of 63 one-, two- and three-bedroom units, the architecturally-designed nine-storey building occupies a unique position with expansive views of Hauraki Gulf, Milford Marina and Rangitoto.

Bayleys agent Joan Barton, who is marketing the development with colleague Kirsten Bishop, says expected completion is within the coming months, and there are limited remaining north and north-west facing apartments still available.

She says that potential purchasers should carefully consider the fact that many projects elsewhere, in and around Auckland, that are currently being sold off the plans may not eventuate due to the rising cost and scarcity of construction materials.

“It’s really a no-brainer, all of these apartments are beautiful and almost finished, so buying one now makes absolute sense – and you’re only about 200 metres from the beach, so that’s a huge attraction too.”

Two-bedroom apartments are priced from $1.575 million; three bedrooms from $2.38m; penthouse from $3.26m.

Omana North’s apartments have all been designed with quality in mind and they are generously sized – ranging from an impressive 99sqm to 181sqm, including the covered loggias.

The high-quality double glazed sliding doors can be pulled closed during cool weather, creating an extra living space all year round. The interior design by Trinity Interiors creates a stunning image of luxury and sophistication.

Designer kitchens are equipped with high quality appliances and an engineered stone benchtop, while the open plan living arrangement is ideal for entertaining guests or spacious relaxation.

Flooring materials include engineered oak and New Zealand-made wool carpets. The decor is cool, coastal, and contemporary, inspired by the colours and textures of nature.

Barton says that Omana North has found particular favour with North Shore residents, especially those who wish to downsize from large family homes in nearby suburbs such as Milford, Takapuna and the surrounding Bays, and into a highly spec’d luxurious apartment with plenty of storage space.

The transition is also perceived as an easy stepping stone from old family abodes to low maintenance, lock-up-and-leave homes.

“We’ve also had interest from people who had moved north of Auckland to places like Coatesville and Albany and now want to move back and be closer to children, grandchildren and medical care,” Barton says.

Omana has been designed to meet all needs, even those that extend outside the immediate home. Apartments come with at least one secure covered carpark and a storage unit, there even exists a car washing bay while homeowners can request EV chargers.

Recreation is not forgotten, where “the lap pool is just beautiful and there’s also an exercise room,” says Barton.

Milford is a charming village with a strong community spirit and excellent amenity. Aucklanders from across town and locals are known to frequent the retail shops and award-winning cafes and restaurants.

When it comes to travel and factoring in the increasing petrol prices, Milford’s public transport system is increasingly attractive. Sporting facilities include the local cruising club, the bowling club and Milford tennis club.

Barton says there are still north-facing premium level apartments available with sea views of the Hauraki Gulf so interested parties should not delay.
