Homeowners Cam and Julie have appreciated the handy location of the Bassett Road home they purchased five years ago – and their little border terrier, Darcy, has benefitted too.
Being situated at the apex of Parnell, Newmarket and Remuera means Newmarket Park, Ayr Reserve and even Mount Hobson are within easy strolling distance for daily walks with her family.

“We love the peace and privacy it offers – we’re in such a lovely, sheltered spot and green environment here so the birdlife is incredible. There are moreporks at night, tūī fighting during the day and even fantails flying around,” says Julie.

Cam says he and Julie have recently found themselves in the classic position of rattling around in a too-big home, now that their children have flown the nest.
They would love to see another family moving in and enjoying the property just as much as they have.
The easy-care grounds with well-established plantings have seen their share of energetic two-day cricket matches on the large flat lawn, according to Cam, who mows it regularly with one his electric mower. “I can do it on a single charge,” he says.
