Elizabeth Towers – Tauranga’s new landmark residential development – is now complete, with the luxury residences ready to move into and enjoy this summer.

Prospective buyers can come and experience the living environments, immerse themselves in the views and enjoy an understanding of just how well connected the prime Elizabeth Street location is. The iconic building comprises 96 apartments across two architecturally-designed residential towers and a collection of 23 garden villas, rising above Tauranga’s newest dining and retail precinct.

The first of its kind in the Bay of Plenty, and arguably New Zealand, Elizabeth Towers’ exceptional location is further elevated by its world-class onsite amenity. This includes a heated resort-style swimming pool and spa, sky garden, residents’ lounge, gym and concierge.

A range of spacious, light-filled typologies has been masterfully designed to cater to a range of buyers – downsizers, early retirees, professionals and those seeking the freedom and flexibility of lock-and-leave living.

A range of one to three-bedroom apartments and penthouses are available, while the garden villas are essentially two-level terrace homes. All units come with a minimum of one secure basement carpark.

Interiors are brought to life with a stylish contemporary palette, curated as a nod to the vibrant coastal location, and indoor/outdoor flow is captured via decks and balconies. Extraordinary views of the harbour are showcased from many upper-level apartments, while others enjoy multifaceted vistas over the city and beyond.

Chris Farhi, insights and data manager at Bayleys, says that Elizabeth Towers is a truly unique and limited edition offering. “I live in an apartment and do a lot of viewings of apartments in my line of work. I haven’t seen anything like this in New Zealand and also doubt it would ever be repeated.”

Jon O’Connor, Bayleys residential sales and projects manager, adds that there is so much on offer here.

“You don’t only get your apartment or your villa, you get all of the amenity sitting on top of a fantastic hospitality and retail precinct, which includes Picnika, one of Tauranga’s best restaurants,” he says. “Residents will be able to do their shopping, shoot down in the morning and get their coffee, have a nice lunch or a glass of wine after work. It is a new way of living in Tauranga, it’s a lifestyle.”

O’Connor also says there has been a marked uplift in inquiry and real estate transactions in the last six months, which should instil confidence in the market.

“Sales volume has increased – more houses are selling and more people are looking and making decisions, which is great. It’s encouraging as we’re moving into the selling season now. We feel the time is right. Buyers can come in and select the apartment they want and the views they want and be in there in a matter of weeks, if they wish.”

Suzie Wigglesworth, national director of projects at Bayleys, says the project is an exciting and timely one for the region.

“Tauranga CBD has been undergoing a complete revamp and Elizabeth Towers is at the gateway of that, in terms of redevelopment of that CBD area.”

She says key appeal also lies in the fact that this isn’t speculative, off-plan buying.

“The building is now finished and polished, with all the shared amenity up and running, which really blows you away. The heated pool has sun loungers and umbrellas for people to relax under, and the huge residents lounge has a kitchen and can be booked and used for large celebrations like milestone birthdays.

“People can have the events catered or do it themselves – rather than having to host in their own little apartment. The big gym is fully kitted out and there are flexible workspaces and private meeting rooms that residents can book out and use, for example if you’re retired but still sit on a board.”

Brett Nicholls, project manager of developer Elizabeth Properties Limited, says the vision here is to transform thinking about living well in New Zealand.

“This is our chance to actually show New Zealand what can be done to transform luxury living, with every essential and leisure need catered for in an elevated stunning location,” he says. “We have sincerely appreciated the community enthusiasm for and interest in Elizabeth Towers and that we’ve been able to act as a catalyst for positive change in the heart of Tauranga.”
