Coe, who founded the fashion chain Augustine with Nathan, told OneRoof that the couple's teenage children had outgrown the holiday home at Te Kapa Inlet, in Mahurangi East, and wanted to be near their friends in the Coromandel.
“We're at the point where we either let them go with their friends, and we don't see them for the next five years, or we buy something there and go with them.”
The couple listed the five-bedroom bach in October with an asking price of $3.299m, but Coe filmed a brief tour of the property for her loyal followers on Facebook this week, and it caught the attention of OneRoof.

"Lots of you asked for a bach tour when we were up there last weekend so here it is. Slightly sped up. Our bach is actually for sale as the teenagers want to move to the Coromandel. It’s only 45 min from Auckland, and we have so many amazing memories here. [It] will be hard to part with it. Anyway, happy viewing."
The Coes bought the bach eight years ago when their youngest daughter was one year old.
“We got there on a sunny day, walked down the jetty, and we didn’t leave until we bought it,” Coe told OneRoof. “We looked at baches everywhere, and there’s just nothing like it. It’s like a little slice of paradise.”
The bach can only be accessed by boat. The Coes, who live in Auckland, drive 40 minutes to Opahi Bay and then launch their trailer boat to make the five-minute trip across the water. They then park the boat at the end of the jetty for the duration of their stay.

Coe said having their own private jetty was a treat. “The kids spend so much time jumping off it.”
The 2000sqm waterfront property, which comprises a main two-bedroom home along with three separate studios, sleeps up to 18 people.
Since owning it, they have rebuilt the three outhouses, renovated the main home and added an outdoor shower and toilet, a large deck, and a pergola and bar.

Fans of Augustine might be surprised that the bach lacks the bright pinks, oranges and yellows that are synonymous with the brand, but Coe said she went with a more neutral palette because she wore so many bright colours herself.
The property is being sold fully furnished, with everything from the bespoke lighting to the knives and forks thrown into the sale.
Cos said she had loved spending time at the property, adding that she wouldn’t be all that sad if it didn’t sell. “It’s just so peaceful, and it’s so beautiful. I will miss so many things about it," she told OneRoof.
“It’s not just a bach, it’s very special. And it’s one of those places that the photos do it no justice. When you get there, it’s just pretty amazing.”
