Warkworth continues to be the gateway to the Hauraki Gulf and Kawau Island. Situated on the outer-reaches of the Auckland Region, Warkworth is the service centre for the north of the Rodney District which is one of NZ's fastest growing regions - identified in 2008 as the home of the happiest and healthiest New Zealanders. 

Within the next 12-18 months the Puhoi to Warkworth extension of the northern motorway will be completed and the Warkworth/Matakana area will be just a short commute from Auckland City. Already home to many city commuters, it is expected that the new motorway will offer greater flexibility and opportunities for even more home-based businesses.
