Dairy Opportunity Close To The City

Located just minutes from the centre of New Plymouth city, 885 Carrington Road offers approximately 86.63ha (subject to subdivision) of predominantly flat to rolling dairy country in one of the region’s most sought-after locations. The property provides the opportunity to secure a genuine dairy farming operation while enjoying the convenience of being close to town and its amenities. With its established dairy operation and practical layout, the property provides the opportunity to continue with the existing system while offering scope for future further development.

The property has a consistent production history, with a three-year average of over 85,000KgMS, and currently milks approximately 210 cows. A central race provides good access across the farm, while the 22-bail rotary cowshed is equipped with cup removers and in-shed feeding proving a practical hub for the dairy farm. Supporting infrastructure includes a large implement shed, calf shed, workshop and enclosed barns, with established water supplies and effluent systems also in place. Current effluent consent is due to expire on 1 December 2026, however an application is already underway for a new consent to be in place on 1 June 2027.

A comfortable three-bedroom family home is set amongst established grounds and provides a practical base for those living and working on the property. Combined with the farm’s established improvements and well-developed layout, the home completes a property that offers everything required for comfortable rural living, with plenty of scope for future building sites should the need or desire arise.

885 Carrington Road is an appealing opportunity for those seeking a manageable dairy property within easy reach of New Plymouth. With proven production, established infrastructure and plenty of future potential, this property offers plenty to work with. We encourage prospective purchasers to inspect the property and consider everything this property has to offer.
