Tucked away in a secluded valley, at the end of a private driveway and just down the road from Glenduan Beach, this exceptional lifestyle property offers a rare combination of luxury living, rural versatility and the opportunity to create something truly special.
Despite a wonderful sense of seclusion, Nelson City is only approximately 15 minutes away. From the moment you turn into the driveway, there is an unmistakable feeling of escaping to your own private paradise. Here, you can embrace a more self-sufficient lifestyle with your own water supply, solar power generation, vegetable gardens, fruit trees and room for livestock - there is also the added assurance of being fully on grid and on Council water supply when rain catchment is low.
The property is offered across two separate titles, providing flexibility to purchase the entire holding or select the land package that best suits your needs.
136 Glen Road is home to the architecturally designed residence, positioned to capture the best of the sunshine, sweeping views across the land to the sea and an outlook towards a reserve of beautiful original native bush. The property includes grazing paddocks which are fenced with mains electric and water troughs in each, suitable for horses, sheep or cattle and encompasses approximately 3.9383 hectares, subject to boundary adjustment.
138 Glen Road offers approximately 14.4 hectares of bare land, also subject to boundary adjustment, with a possible building platform providing the opportunity to create an additional residence or explore further lifestyle possibilities.
The home itself has been thoughtfully designed to make the most of its natural surroundings, with architectural features, quality craftsmanship and high-specification fittings throughout. The impressive entranceway and fireplace showcase beautiful Central Otago schist, while the stunning Rimu flooring adds warmth and character. Generous open spaces and expansive windows ensure the spectacular outlook can be enjoyed from throughout the home.
The ground floor offers a beautifully appointed kitchen, expansive open-plan living and dining, a lounge and separate media room, with excellent connection to the outdoor entertaining areas and established gardens. Down the hallway is a substantial office, an exceptionally spacious bathroom and the master bedroom, complete with a separate dressing and robe area.
Upstairs, three generous bedrooms are complemented by a well-appointed family bathroom and an impressive storage room. With its size and versatility, this space also offers the potential to create another bedroom or perhaps an additional upstairs family living area.
Beyond the home, the land offers an exciting blend of established native planting, grazing and future potential. The vendors have embraced the natural environment, planting more than 7,000 trees and plants, many of which are now becoming well established. There is also an approximately two-hectare Significant Natural Area of original native bush, adding to the property's ecological appeal.
The remainder of the hillside has had forestry removed, presenting options for future planting in either pines or natives. Productive grazing paddocks add another dimension, while a stream meanders through part of the property, enhancing the natural setting. Practical rural infrastructure is well catered for with cattle yards and a good-sized farm shed, including a lockable bay.
There are three purchasing options available:
