Born and bred in Palmerston North, Mel has a real passion for people, property, and the Manawatu lifestyle. Family, community, and real-life experiences have shaped her approachable and down-to-earth nature, making real estate a natural fit. After beginning her career in the insurance industry, Mel spent time living and working in Auckland, Brisbane, and Melbourne before returning home to the Manawatu to be closer to family and raise her own. Real estate has always been close to home, with her brother Richard “Ginga” Jensen, now owner of Harcourts Team Manawatu Ltd. Working alongside Richard as his personal assistant sparked Mel’s own passion for real estate and led her to gain her real estate licence. Alongside raising her two children, Mel also spent many years helping build and support her family plumbing business, developing strong organisational skills, a practical mindset, and a deep understanding of the importance of relationships, trust, and communication. Now returning to the industry she genuinely enjoys, Mel brings a relatable, family-focused approach to real estate. As a lifelong local with strong community ties, she understands the people, lifestyle, and values that make the ManawatÅ« such a great place to call home. Outside of work, Mel is heavily involved in sport and can often be found on the sidelines of the netball court, rugby field, and supporting her son racing at the speedway. She is also a proud committee member of the Bunnythorpe Rugby Football Club and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends around the Manawatu.
