Mat has a bachelor’s degree in Education Studies majoring in Human Geography - the study of the interaction between human beings and their environment. He also has a post graduate diploma in primary teaching and comes to real estate after a long career as a teacher, which at its culmination saw him in the role of team leader of multiple teachers and around 200 children.

Mat is well practised in the skills of negotiation, communication and client care, as well as knowing how to deal successfully with a range of people and personality types. He also offers high level skills in strategic planning, management and liaison. His leadership roles have allowed Mat the opportunity to expand his network and work in a professional capacity with a variety of people at a range of levels. All of this has prepared him impeccably for a high-flying career in real estate.

Mat offers his vendors and purchasers an open minded and solution-focused attitude. Known as a ‘straight shooter’ with a no-nonsense approach, his clients are kept well informed at every step of the process enabling them to make timely on track decisions. Mat is organised, efficient and has a thorough attention to detail meaning his clients experience a seamless, hassle-free real estate journey.

Strong family and community values are important to Mat. He continues to be involved in his school community, offering support via events and fundraising. He is also part of the Royal Oaks Racquet club of which Bayleys are a key sponsor. Other pastimes include visiting beaches, markets and new eateries with friends and family. He also enjoys the outdoors, tennis, and swimming and is an avid reader.

Mat specialises in One Tree Hill where he has lived for a number of years. He has a special love of the area because of its community feel and the range of properties from low to high end, which attract a range of purchasers - those buying a first home, family home or moving up the property ladder.
