- Gary Baker

The Bakers @ Bayleys
Gary and Lynette entered Real Estate after being involved in the building industry for forty years. Gary began as an apprentice carpenter then moved on to be an independent spec builder, before spending 5 years in the group housing market. Following a life goal to move to the Bay of plenty, Gary and Lynette along with their two teenage children moved from Palmerton North to Tauranga in 1987.
Over the past fifteen years Gary and Lynette have worked together focusing mainly on the redevelopment of prime existing sites within Tauranga. During this time they have completed several multi million dollar townhouse and apartment complexes as well a number of major renovations. Because of the need to market these new residences, both Gary and Lynette have had a very active working relationship with the Real Estate fraternity in Tauranga, particulary Bayleys and Eves.
When they were approached by Richard Cashmore and asked if they would like to take up a position within the Bayleys residential team, the decision was easy. They had spent many years buying and selling whilst building and developing various properties around Tauranga and this new role was like a natural progression.
Gary & Lynette have now successfully completed their first year in Real Estate. Just recently, Gary was awarded “Rookie of the Year” at the annual Realty group awards night. The Group has offices in the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and Taranaki. There is no doubt that this was made possible through a lot of hard work and commitment. Their ability to negotiate and think outside the square has produced some fantastic results for both Vendors and Purchasers.
This momentum has continued into the current financial year and within the first two weeks, successful negotiations resulted in four unconditional sales. Their passion and commitment to succeed in the industry is obvious, so we can all sit back and watch them carve their niche into this very competitive market.
Away from work, Gary and Lynette enjoy their trips away fishing and holidaying around the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel. Both are active members of the Tauranga Golf Club and follow rugby at all levels. They are a very family oriented couple and feel very lucky to have both their Son and Daughter living in Tauranga along with their families.
