About Billy Russell

One of the most common questions when selecting a Real Estate agent is “Why You?”

Here is a quick overview of my background in Real Estate so far.

Born, Bred and Corn Fed in Mount Maunganui attending local schools Arataki Primary, Mount Intermediate and Mount College. Love a bit of footy and was lucky enough to play in Scotland. It was here that I started in sales in the mid 2000's working for some of the worlds top sports brands as a sales manager and picking up a lot of skills. Problem Solving, Negotiation and Communication being the biggest skill traits that set me out from the rest. I like to think I have a masters degree in Common Sense.

When deciding to return home in 2011, I chose real estate as this is an area my skills would be best utilised and I knew my local connections would be my biggest asset. I am now considered a Koro in the industry approaching 15 years and have gained a lot of experience, knowledge and awards along the way. This growth has enabled me expand to Billy Russell & Co. where I now have a small team assisting me. Originally beginning with another company, then moving to RayWhite Bayfair in 2018, the technology and support that RayWhite provides is innovative, eye opening and industry leading.

I consider myself a community man that has been involved in the Arataki community since the 80's along with my family, to now holding the role of President of Arataki Sports Club. I pride myself on giving back and take pride in continuing to support our local community groups where I can.

Testimonials
Working with Billy and Bella has been a really positive experience for us. Billy's communication has been consistent from day one, and he has a natural way of reading people and adapting to different personalities. That made the whole process feel easier, more human, and a lot less stressful. Both he and Bella were relational, straight-up, and genuinely understood our situation as a whānau. Throughout the campaign, the updates were clear, the advice was practical, and we always felt supported. They navigated the buyers well and represented our interests professionally, and Bella worked hard behind the scenes to keep everything on track. The only point I'd reflect on is when the offer sat at $690k. Billy was encouraging us to take it, but we'd been very clear from the start that our reserve was $700k. Holding firm was the right decision for us, and to Billy's credit, he pushed the buyer up once we held the line. If I had been a less confident vendor, it would've been easy to fold at $690k, and we're glad we didn't. It shows the importance of knowing your bottom line and sticking with it. That said, Billy did the mahi in getting the buyer to meet our number, and the end result was exactly what we needed. Overall, Billy and Bella did an excellent job. Their relational style, consistency, hard work, and commitment meant a lot to us, and we're grateful for how they helped us close this chapter and move forward into the next.- Terina Dinsdale-Kingi

Billy - is my Real estate man, how to publicly thank a man like Billy. I'm a single, 71 years old lady......... I don't know why Billy looked after my interests so well, perhaps my age, perhaps because I was overseas on holiday or just perhaps that's Billy and he is like that, no favorites. It took a long time to sell my investment house at the Mount, about nine months, it was one of those properties. I thought it was a great investment and it was, but it wasn't an easy sell when like minded investors were on the same page as I was. Billy went down every sales angle, he didn't leave the place sitting on the books, we jumped from price by enquiry, set pricing, auction, relist it, he was my property manager every sunday at open homes first on scene when the plumber was needed, there for the electrician. Things went wrong while I was overseas on holiday. Billy sure did his job. Over the listing period, Billy put four or five contracts in front of me, all but the last falling over, the first one came in on the day I had a heart attack and started a whole new existence lol. Billy leveled up and became the most important man in my life looking after my interests at the Mount house with my tenants, floods, broken toilets. If it could go wrong it did and Billy simply sorted it. My house finally went unconditional on my 71st birthday the day before I flew home. How do I thank him for being him............ the best real estate salesperson I have ever come across.......... Billy Talks the talk and Walks the walk he had my back at every turn. Bless you Billy - Jan Wilkinson
