About Stonewood Homes

Nelson and Marlborough are among New Zealand’s most desirable regions to call home, known for their stunning coastal landscapes, vineyards, and sunny climate that attracts families, retirees, and investors alike. Over recent years, the regions have experienced strong population growth and a rising demand for high-quality residential housing, with more people choosing to build new homes that reflect their lifestyle and long-term goals. This growth has fuelled a competitive building industry where experience, reliability, and award-winning results truly stand out.

Stonewood Homes Nelson has built a trusted reputation as the recommended builder in both Nelson and Marlborough, consistently delivering homes that combine modern design, energy efficiency, and exceptional craftsmanship. With a history of success that includes multiple House of the Year awards and recognition as Franchise of the Year, Stonewood Homes Nelson continues to lead the market with proven excellence. From first homes to architectural builds, the team offers innovative design tools, personalised service, and the peace of mind that comes with working with an established, award-winning brand. For anyone considering building in Nelson or Marlborough, Stonewood Homes stands out as the builder of choice, offering not only quality homes but also a seamless building journey backed by decades of experience.

Future residential growth in the region looks promising. In the March 2025 quarter, 107 new residential building consents were issued in the Nelson–Tasman area, up from 81 in the same quarter in 2024. Meanwhile, the Marlborough District saw 53 new residential consents in that same quarter, compared to 57 a year earlier indicating a relatively stable level of activity. On a national scale, the year ended June 2025 recorded 33,979 new dwellings consented, a 1.0% increase from the year ended June 2024. Despite national fluctuations, these regional figures hint at sustained local demand for new builds. With government initiatives like Kāinga Ora delivering state homes—66 contracted for delivery by June 2025 in the Nelson–Tasman area, and 43 delivered in the financial year 2024 —the housing market’s momentum is expected to persist.
