Brought up on the family farm north of Napier, Duncan has a unique background that combines practical experience farming and international sales and marketing roles.

This experience spans leading sales and marketing roles in the corporate world based in Asia, New York and Australia, as well as leading NZ based agri-businesses within the dairy and the meat industries at general management level, so has a good appreciation of the rural sector from the farmgate to the overseas markets. This experience developed Duncan's negotiating skills.

At grass-root level, Duncan spent a few years as a full-time shearer throughout NZ and Australia.
